MV Ossuary and Stand
Designed for Meyer•Vogelpohl by David Camele
Meyer•Vogelpohl offers a new design to assist in the funeral liturgy for cremated remains.
In 1997 permission was granted for Catholic parishes to celebrate the funeral liturgy with cremated remains present. While a white pall is not used in the funeral liturgy with cremated remains, the MV Ossuary may be used. It is a hand crafted receptacle in which the funeral urn or box is placed. Like the pragmatic usage of the pall, an MV Ossuary avoids any distinction between urns or containers which hold the cremated remains. An MV Ossuary assures that the rich and the poor are given their rightful dignity during the funeral liturgy.
The top of the MV550 Ossuary opens to allow the urn or box to be lowered into place. A locking mechanism secures the container or urn.
A handle allows the MV550 Ossuary to be easily moved.
The MV550 Ossuary is 20" wide, 15 3/4" long and 17 1/2" tall. It is constructed of maple. The matching stand is 32" tall, 21 1/2" wide and 17 1/4" long. It is also available in combinations of cherry, walnut and oak.
